Church Resources

Helping the Church fulfill its ministry to Older Adults

Westminster Communities of Florida are designed around the person -- where church members can create a lifestyle that meets their interests and needs – close to church friends and pastors.

Over the years, the Westminster Retirement Communities Foundation has provided benevolent assistance to residents who have outlived their financial resources. Our Foundation also provides funding for several resident centered programs.

Westminster Communities of Florida works with many churches in meeting the needs of their older adult members.    It is this cooperation that strengthens the faith-based heritage of the Westminster organization.  Started in 1954 at the urging of the Presbyterian Church (USA), growth has come from the involvement of many churches, reflecting a wide range of faith communities.

Pastors, elders, deacons, volunteers, care teams and various youth and children programs provide many services that are a blessing to our residents.  Churches also find that including residents in their church programs brings a rich diversity in talent and volunteer leadership to congregations.

Today, Westminster continues to work with, and along side, churches in helping members understand topics such as wellness and life transitions.   Workshops in writing Life Legacies, sometimes called ethical wills or legacy of values, have become popular.

The Westminster communities also offer luncheons and tours for small groups of church members seeking to learn more about the options and services available on campus.
