Our Active Westminster Way of Life

Exciting choices in active living await you

"Active living" Westminster style means a lot of choices.  At any of our active-living communities, you'll enjoy freedom of lifestyle with the peace of mind that comes from knowing extra help is but a call away should you ever need it.

Our active-living communities offer three distinct living options:

  • Residential Living is for those who can live comfortably and safely on their own the same way they always have in their homes.

  • Residential Assisted Living is for people who need occasional help with some of the tasks of day-to-day living, but for the most part get along well on their own every day. These special services can be provided to people on campus in their residential homes or in specially designed supportive services apartments.

  • Health Center provides on-campus Person-Centered Care™ 24/7 for either respite or long-term stays.

Residential assisted living - right amount of help for daily-living challenges

During those times when you or your spouse need a bit more assistance with everyday activities, you'll take great comfort in the care provided by our residential assisted living staff.

Located in each of our Active Living Communities, residential assisted living provides 24-hour-a-day assistance with tasks such as bathing, dressing, menu selection, and other activities of daily living.  Residential assisted living is perfect for anyone needing some assistance, but not the full-time, concentrated care of the health center.

People living in residential assisted living reside in private apartments furnished with their own belongings. We encourage them to be as active as they want and live as autonomously as they feel they are able. Yet, they have the security of knowing help is available whenever it may be needed.

Health centers offer skilled nursing attention 24/7

Health centers located within the Active Living Communities employ a professional staff providing 24/7 nursing care.  Whether it's a short stay for restorative or rehabilitative purposes or a longer-term visit, the unique Person-Centered Care™ found in our health centers adapts to meet each person's special needs in a timely, dignified, and professional manner.

The health center offers a wide array of services and programs including recreational and therapeutic activities in both individual and group settings.  Nutritional programs meet any personal dietary requirements or food preferences.  Our health centers also offer supportive counseling and problem solving through staff social workers and chaplains.  Most importantly, the nursing staff is passionately and professionally committed to providing Person-Centered Care with compassion and concern.

What's different about living in a
Westminster Communities of Florida Health Center?

At our health centers, Westminster's unique Person Centered Model strives to allow people to continue their daily activities the way they have all their lives, rather than be forced to adapt to a totally new schedule and way of doing things.  People who live in our health centers do not have to adapt to us; we adjust to their needs and desires.  After all, it is their home! We are here to make sure they benefit from and enjoy it as much as they like.

Westminster's focus is on assisting the people who live in our health centers to achieve personal satisfaction.  We do this by helping them maintain the familiar structure in their routines and surroundings that they have always found comforting and reassuring.
