HSG Program for Retired United Methodist Ministers, Missionaries, Church Educators, & Spouse or Surviving Spouse

Purpose

The Honorable Service Grant is provided to clergy and other professional church workers in an effort to recognize the faith-based heritage of a Westminster community that was formerly sponsored by the United Methodist Church.  The Honorable Service Grant also recognizes and celebrates the ministry service provided by these individuals.

Assistance with an Entrance Fee

  1. An Honorable Service Grant equal to 20% of the Entrance Fee (no limit) for an existing apartment at:

       Westminster Manor - Bradenton
       Westminster Towers & Shores - Bradenton
       Westminster Palms - St. Petersburg
       Westminster Shores - St. Petersburg
       Westminster Suncoast - St. Petersburg
       Westminster Woods on Julington Creek - Jacksonville
     
  2. An Honorable Service Grant of 10% up to $15,000 of an Entrance Fee for any existing village accommodation at Westminster communities offering this type of housing.
     
  3. An Honorable Service Grant of 10% up to $15,000 of an Entrance Fee at:

       Westminster Palms, Palm View - St. Petersburg
       Westminster Shores, Bahama Place - St. Petersburg

Eligibility Criteria

  • 65 years of age
  • completion of 20 years of service to the United Methodist Church. Individuals serving at least 10 years, but less than 20, may be eligible for a prorated grant based on length of service
  • Recommendation from retiree's Conference, Diocese, or church.
